Say the place you can actually reach. "I can meet in York at lunch, and I cannot stay the night" is a sentence someone can plan around. "Anywhere discreet" is not, because it leaves them to guess the distance, the hour, and whether you will come.
The point of another town is that the school run, the office, and the usual café are not there. Choose somewhere public, and somewhere you do not already appear every week. Your own way there, and your own way home. Meeting without advertising it is that. If you can only meet in the daytime is the hour. A small town, where people know you is the reason a lot of people travel.
Do not invent a town you never visit, and do not offer your home because it is easier. A hotel room as a first meeting is a private place with a stranger. The first meeting stays public. If you are married, say so in the same sentence. Another town is not a code for single. For married women is that fact.
