A woman replies to a message that could only have been sent to her. Read the profile. Use one line from it, and only one. "You said you can meet at lunch in Manchester" is a message. "Hey beautiful" is what she deletes, and it is what she deletes on every site.
Say the arrangement in the same note. If you are married, say so. If you can do a weekday lunch and you cannot stay the night, say that. She should not have to interview you to find out what you are offering. Ambiguity is work, and she did not come here to do it for you.
Keep it to two or three sentences and one question, then stop. A long first message about your marriage, your history, or what you want done is a lot to hand a stranger. Let her answer before you add anything you would not want forwarded.
Leave out the things that end the conversation. A comment on her body. A request for more photos, or for a photo she cannot take back. A phone number, a surname, or a suggestion to move to WhatsApp in the first exchange. Those arrive from people who have not read the profile. The guide on sending a first message is the same rule, written the other way round.
If she does not reply, one more note a few days later is enough, and only if you still mean it. A third message is you talking to yourself. Silence is an answer. Chasing is the reason the next woman does not open your note either.
Match what she wrote. If she has said she is married and can meet in the daytime, do not write as if she is free tonight and looking for a boyfriend. If she has said what she cannot offer, do not argue her out of it. The guide on saying what the arrangement is is there if your own profile is the part that is still vague.
