Engaged means a wedding is planned, or a promise has been made, and the person is not single. It is also not married yet. Those are different limits. Someone who writes engaged is telling you there is a fiancé, and that a public relationship is not what they are offering. Read it that way.
Looking for an engaged man, or an engaged woman, only makes sense if you can accept that. A meeting that stays private, and a conversation that does not become a plan to call off a wedding, is the ordinary shape. If you are hoping they will leave, you are hoping for a sentence they did not write.
If you are engaged yourself, say so in the same words. Do not write single because it is easier to get a reply. The reply you get will be to the wrong fact. "I am engaged, I can meet at lunch, and I cannot be public" is a sentence the other adult can accept or decline.
Do not ask for the fiancé's name, the date of the wedding, or the workplace. None of that belongs in a first message. Where they are, that they are engaged, and what time they actually have is the useful part.
Only Amour is free. There is no fee to search and no fee to write. A person who says you must pay, or leave the site, before you can meet someone engaged is not describing how this site works.
The guide on what an affair means here is the arrangement in plain words. The guide on if you are already married is the nearest neighbour, if the wedding has already happened and the word on the profile should be married instead.
