Use a photo you are willing to be recognised from. Discretion is not a blank profile. The other person has to know who they would be meeting. A clear picture of your face, in ordinary daylight, does that. Sunglasses, a hat, and a photograph from ten years ago do not.
It does not need to be explicit, and it should not be. Explicit photos stay blurred until someone has chosen an age check, and they are a poor way to introduce yourself. One honest photograph is more useful than a gallery.
Crop out anything that places you. A work badge, a school gate, a house number, a car registration, a uniform. Those details are not what makes a photo trustworthy. They are what makes it risky. The guide on discretion covers what else stays off the profile.
Be wary of a profile that is only professional photographs. Studio light, the same polished face, no ordinary room. That set can belong to anyone, and it often does. A slightly ordinary picture is easier to trust than a campaign.
Do not use a photo that includes a child, even at the edge of the frame. Do not use a photo of someone else. If you would not want that picture attached to your name in a quiet conversation, do not upload it.
Take it by a window, look at the camera, and stop. You can add another later if you want to. You do not need a shoot, and you do not need to show more than your face to get a serious reply.
