Spotting a fake profile

Signs that a profile is not a real member, and what to do when you see one.
A phone on a desk showing a blurred, unreadable silhouette.

Copied photos, a story that changes, and a request to continue somewhere else are the usual pattern. So is a request for money, vouchers, or a fee to unlock a conversation. Only Amour does not charge you to send a message. A member who says we do is not a member you should trust.

Someone who will not confirm a simple detail, or who pressures you to be explicit before you have met, is not owed your trust. Discretion is not the same as secrecy about whether they are a real person. A real person can stay on a short video call without you sending identifying photos first.

Watch for a profile that is all atmosphere and no facts. No rough area, no limit on what they can offer, no answer when you ask if they are married or single. Fake accounts hide in hints because a hint cannot be checked. Ask one plain question and see if they answer it.

Do not move to another app because they say Only Amour is being watched. That line is used to get you somewhere your report cannot follow. Keep the conversation here until you have met them, or until you have decided not to.

Report the profile. You can block them as well. Do not send identifying photos, your surname, or your workplace to someone you have not met. If they already have a photo you regret, stop replying and tell us what was sent. Do not negotiate with them.

A careful member can sound reserved. A fake one sounds urgent. Reserve waits. Urgency asks you to break your own rules tonight. Believe the urgency. It is the useful part.
